“Our goal as coaches of the Sparta HS Volleyball program is to become a vital part of the sports program here at Sparta High. As a community, we can unite with support of this program and others by demonstrating good sportsmanship, and having pride in your Sparta HS “Lady Spartans” volleyball program, or any other program here at Sparta”.
It’s our belief that volleyball is more than just a great game! Through participation, the young women involved will develop values and traits which play an important role in their growth and development as individuals in our society. Because of this belief, we understand the importance of a coach’s actions and behavior. As coaches, we must interact with our players in a positive manner.
Even though criticism is a large part of being a coach, it will be handled in a positive and constructive manner. In dealing with the young women in our program, it’s important that they understand the reason for our criticism. It’s by no means a reflection on them as individuals, or the team. Each individual in the program will be treated with the respect they deserve.
In addition to individual fundamentals, success through the team concept will be a factor which will be taught consistently throughout the program. We are a part of a competitive league. The goal of our volleyball program to win matches, and to achieve success with as many athletes as possible.
